Phil Hartley

Contaminated Land Specialist

Phil Hartley is a Chartered Environmental Health Practitioner.  He has over twenty-five years experience of Local Government Environmental Health practice. He has worked as a specialist in land contamination for over ten years and has been instrumental in the determination of six sites as ‘Contaminated Land’ under Part IIA of The Environmental Protection Act 1990.  He also has extensive experience and knowledge of the regulation of land contamination through the town planning system. Phil is a member of the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) Standing Conference on Land Contamination Executive Steering Group. He has presented papers at national conferences on his work and lectures at Newcastle University on this topic.
