Nigel Hartley

BA BArch BTP RIBA MRTPI, Town Planning Consultant

Nigel Hartley studied architecture at Liverpool University graduating in 1982. After 5 years in practice he studied town planning for 3 years part time at South Bank Polytechnic. He is a corporate member of the Royal Institute of British Architects and the Royal Town Planning Institute. He was elected to the Council of the RTPI for 2 years in 2001-2002 and served on the Institute’s policy committee.

Nigel specialises in design, physical impact and implementation issues in town planning. His projects include greenfield sites, previously developed land, new buildings, conversions, conservation areas and listed buildings. He has appeared as an expert witness at numerous public inquiries and in court giving evidence on town planning, amenity and design issues.
